The main aim and objectives of this initiative were to promote Portugal, the Portuguese culture and the Portuguese local ESN associations to our audience across our social media platforms and our local associations’ ones and for this audience to get to know Portugal better, for about 4 months, when the pandemic was mostly taking over our lives and we had to stay home, and this was the way to take a small piece of Portugal, to everyone around.
The initiative consisted of sharing the Portuguese culture through a national-wide campaign on social media, for 4 months, where ESN Portugal, together with our sections, shared curiosities and traditions about each city where there is a local ESN association, must-do’s in those cities, promoted the ESN association and one of their ‘signature’ events. Together with these publications, the local ESN associations, on the day of the posting, took over ESN Portugal’s Instagram account and guided our audience through their daily lives and their cities (within the limits imposed by the pandemic), but also interacted and answered their questions, with quizzes and question boxes.
To collect all the information about each city, we did thorough research and asked our volunteers from those cities to share with us the information, because there is no better than a local to know their own city, traditions and best places.
The main focus was then to promote the local, regional and national culture, but also the European culture, Since some sights and traditions are also appreciated and embraced outside of our country.
