International mobility has a costly impact on the environment due to frequent travelling. ESN aims at reducing this impact by organising greener activities and by raising awareness among international students.

Sunset Canoeing

the sunset canoeing was a fun activity that helped international students in Utrecht meet new people and exercise outside together. There was also a cultural aspect to the activity since we played the game koekhappen (typical old Dutch game) during the canoeing underneath a bridge.

Walk in the park w/ ESN Udine

Udine, IT

The main aim was to gather after a long time being away from each other; in this way, we wanted to encourage those habits that all of us missed during the pandemic and that may have had the worst impact on mental health. Spending some time outdoors is a perfect healer after months of being house-bound, mainly when such a kind of activity is carried out in one of the green lungs of the Udine. Furthermore, walking has been an effective activity for physical well-being, not too intensive and tailored for any groups.

Charity Run ESN Bonn Vol.2

28/05/2021 - 30/05/2021

Bonn, DE

The goal of the activity is to motivate as many people as possible during the pandemic situation to go out, make some sports and reach together the amount of more then 1038 km. The motivation is that ESN Bonn donate xx Cents (will be updated before the event) for every achieved kilometer to the social organisation Save the Children to support less priveleged people in third world countries. The combination of an individual sporting activity during the lockdown and the fundraising for a charitable cause was the basis to connect the participants via social media. So the main target was to motivate international students and ESN Team members for a running activity and at the same time do something good for people in developing countries.      You can do the event where you want and when you want during the second weekend in May and furthermore during the health and well-being week (28.05.-30.05.). That´s why we want to invite all the ESN sections in Germany to participate.
