The objectives of the event were:
- Promotion of natural, cultural and gastronomic heritage.
- Strengthening relations with local institutions.
- Promotion of environmental sustainability.
- Promotion of sport and well-being.
The Evento Nazionale in the Aeolian islands was born from the idea of leaving an unforgettable memory to Erasmus students at the end of mobility, enhancing the natural and cultural heritage of the Aeolian Islands. A flagship for Southern Italy, worthy of the best attention from young international. A journey, a memory, that will make their experience in Italy unique.
An important opportunity for the territory because, thanks to the re-proposal of future editions of the trip, it will be possible to promote tourism in the off-season.
In addition to the enhancement of the cultural, naturalistic, gastronomic heritage, emphasis is given to Sicilian and Aeolian companies to make international students live a 360ยบ experience in the land that has welcomed them for several months.
The project is aimed at foreign university students in mobility, members of the association ESN - Erasmus Student Network and all volunteers of the Network.
The trip was 4 days and 3 nights on the island of Vulcano, where the main activities took place: 3 themed parties, entertainment and afternoon parties on the beach, kayaking, snorkeling, trekking on the volcano and a boat trip to Lipari island. A whole day was then dedicated to a mini cruise to visit the islands of Panarea and Stromboli. On the mini cruise was then offered a tasting of typical Sicilian products during the phenomenon of "sciara di fuoco".
