Goal of the Activity

The purpose of the Yazılıkaya trip was to introduce Erasmus students to the historical and cultural riches of the region and to provide an opportunity to explore local culture and traditions. It aimed to ensure that students gained knowledge about important sites such as the ancient Phrygian city and the Seyitgazi Tomb. Additionally, the trip sought to enhance social interaction through group activities and encourage students to gain new experiences. This way, the understanding of local culture among the students was aimed to be enriched.

Description

The Yazılıkaya Trip took place on a Saturday, starting at 10 AM and concluding at 5 PM. We traveled by bus due to its distance from the city center. Upon arrival, we explored the ancient Phrygian city, where an English-speaking guide shared insights about the historical artifacts, particularly the notable Midas Monument, which captured the students' interest.

During the trip, students had the opportunity to enter a cave and climb stairs inside, which was an exciting experience for everyone. All students successfully completed the climb. Afterward, we enjoyed a traditional local dish called "hıçın böregi."

Our final stop was the Seyitgazi Tomb, where students learned more about the region's cultural heritage. Overall, the trip aimed to enrich students' understanding of local history and culture while providing an enjoyable day filled with exploration and discovery.
