Goal of the Activity

The goal of the activity was to let the International Students approach our culture by showing them an other treasure of our rich histroy as the Opera dei Pupi belongs to the UNESCO's List of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity

Description

Opera dei Pupi- Marionette Show

The Opera dei Pupi is a special puppet theatre that became popular in southern Italy, particularly in Sicily, in the early 1800s and has now been declared a UNESCO masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage.

It is the theatrical representation of the poems of medieval French literature of the Chanson de Roland or the Orlando Furioso, of the clashes between knights and Moors, in which the puppets are the expression and symbol of the desire for redemption and justice of a social class.
Are you excited to visit one of the most important museum and to attend an exclusive show?

It used to be a family-run business and today just a few of them preserved this tradition passing it down generation by generation.
Among these “guardians” there is the Antonio Pasqualino International Museum which houses over 5,000 pieces from all over the world.

During the event we had the chance to attend a guided visit in English(or Italian)and an exclusive show of a unique heritage
