The purpose of the activity is to inform and educate the future Erasmus generation on the values that inspire the program, on the importance and meaning of being European citizens, on the fundamental role that this plays in their education. The main objective is therefore to raise awareness on issues generally known to all but rarely actually understood or indicated. This of course was combined with a presentation of ESN and its work in this area, thus focusing on the role of volunteering in general and especially on that played by our Network.
The Salone dello Studente is one of the most successful initiatives in Italy in the field of education. Before the pread of pandemic, it took place in the main Italian cities and enabled students about to start university to meet and learn from schools and associations already working in this field. ESN Italy has been actively involved in this initiative for many years and, given the pandemic, has left its mark by increasing the educational/informative offer of the online fair. Through a coordinated action carried out by the Project Manager and the dedicated national team, ESN Italy structured the participation of its sections, guaranteeing them spots (41 meetings in 8 months) in which to tell what ESN was and focusing on the importance of the Erasmus programme and the strong educational contribution it provides. Our Sections were therefore involved and assisted: we put them in contact, acted as intermediaries with the Partner and delivered all the useful material for a correct development of the activity.
