The main goal of this activity was to raise awareness about the environmental challenges and opportunities that the young generation is confronted with while also creating the context for international and cross-cultural dialogue on sustainability. In total, we were viewed by 400 accounts, evenly divided among local and international students. This number only includes the persons who watched us in real time. Our series remains available anytime, on our section's IGTV.
The Goal of the Activity was to let young High School students know about mobility programmes and the possibilities they offer, get them interested in intercultural dialogue and plant the seeds for the Erasmus Students of the coming years.
Our Green Week has become an essential part of every semester. It is one week full of events to educate people about the environment and sustainability. This semester we moved everything online and had one daily post on our Instagram and Facebook tackling a different environmental topic.
The webinar is part of the webinar series: Understanding Agenda 2030 - Only one decade left. This series digs into the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals during the spring 2021. The Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals are reaching for a peaceful and prosperous future for both people and the planet. They call for urgent action and cooperation globally, between developed and developing countries to end poverty and hunger, ensure economic growth and tackle climate change. The Agenda 2030 was set in the UN Sustainable Development Summit 2015 and adopted by all the United Nations member countries.
The main focus of the project is the SDG and Agenda 2030, with the objective of raising the awareness of the citizens and also making the information more accessible to them. We believe that, in order to achieve these goals, the main challenge is to reach the people and to create an impact on the individual level, so they can implement the lessons learned at their day to day. We have observed that people (common citizens, students, etc.) perceive information related to SDG in an unclear and a confused way. That is why we want to offer an easy and an interactive program that outlines the framework of Agenda 2030.
In this fourth webinar we concentrate on the Sustainable Development Goal 13 “Climate actions” and Goal 15 "life of land". We talk about the current situation in reaching these goals, what should be done in order to win the battle against climate change and biodiversity loss, which are the obstacles in this fight and how are these goals connected with the other sustainable development goals.
Through this activity we wanted to analyze the themes of sustainability and of the Agenda 2030 and to link them to the ESN world. ESN Macerata wanted to highlight how much these topics are central and important and how ESN ,as an international network, should spread knowledge on the issues and give its contribution to make the network more sustainable and to raise awareness on the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
