Goal of the Activity

The aim was to bring as many young people as possible closer to active citizenship education and to develop problem solving, teamwork and communication skills through a multilingual debate on specific topical issues.

Description

The city of Potenza has been chosen to host the 55th National Session of the European Youth Parliament, after the positive experience of the 2021 Potenza Regional Session. The event took place from 7 to 12 May 2024 and was attended by about 120 young people from the national and European area to discuss the most relevant challenges of tomorrow's Europe.
The aim was to bring as many young people as possible closer to active citizenship education and to develop problem solving, teamwork and communication skills through a multilingual debate on specific topical issues.
The event is aimed at third, fourth and fifth grade students from high schools throughout Italy. The initiative has also brought young people from other European countries to the capital of Potenza, who will form the event's staff, the Officials' Team. The activities took place mainly at the University of Basilicata. They were five days of sharing and fun.
