The initiative was created with the aim of promoting solidarity, promoting the university not only as a place of education, but also as a space for personal and collective growth. In this context, the aim is to raise awareness among young people on the issue of solidarity, particularly in the food sector, through the Magazzini Sociali project run by the ioPotentino association. Since 2014, the organisation has been active in the Potenza area to combat food poverty, promoting the collection of long-life goods and distributing them to those most in need. The initiative demonstrates how the university community can become a real driving force for change and support for the local area, strengthening young people's sense of belonging and social responsibility.
Musica Senza Etichetta (MSE) celebrated its eleventh edition this year, confirming its status as an event that brings together music, culture and solidarity. One of its distinctive features is the “Solidarity Ticket” initiative: instead of buying a traditional ticket, participants are invited to donate long-life food items, which are then distributed to people in need through the Magazzini Sociali network.
The main objective of this collaboration is to transform every concert ticket into a concrete gesture of solidarity. For years, the festival has demonstrated how music can go beyond entertainment, becoming a tool for active participation and community support.
The “Solidarity Ticket” is therefore a valuable choice that combines inclusion and sharing: each donation not only allows people to enjoy the festival experience, but also helps those most in need.
The closing night of MSE Vol.11 took place on 6 June in the car park in front of the University of Basilicata. NITRO took to the stage as the main artist, thrilling the audience with his performance. The evening was opened by several local artists and the finalists of the contests held in May – the Band Contest and the DJ Contest – bringing the energy, creativity and talent of the new generations to the stage.
A mix of experiences and sounds that made the closing concert even more special, confirming MSE as a meeting point between cultures, young people and solidarity.
