The main aim of the initiative is to promote solidarity, using the university not only as a place of education, but also as a space for growth and sharing for self-building. In this context, an attempt is made to make young people aware of solidarity, particularly in the food sector, through the Magazzini Sociali project of the ‘ioPotentino’ association. Since 2014, this organisation has been operating in the Potentino area with the aim of combating food poverty by organising collections of long-life food goods. These goods are then distributed to those in need, demonstrating how the university community can be an engine of change and support for the territory, strengthening the bond between students and their sense of belonging to society.
Musica Senza Etichetta (MSE) celebrated its tenth edition this year, consolidating itself as an event that combines music, culture and solidarity. A key aspect of the festival is the ‘Solidarity Ticket’ initiative. Instead of buying a traditional admission ticket, participants are invited to donate long-life foodstuffs, which are then distributed to people in need through the Social Warehouses network.
This collaboration with the Social Warehouses has the main objective of supporting people in need, turning every concert ticket into a concrete act of solidarity. For years, the festival has succeeded in combining the pleasure of music with social commitment, giving each participant the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of the community in a simple but meaningful way.
The ‘Solidarity Ticket’ thus represents a real choice of value, promoting solidarity, inclusion and sharing. Each gift not only makes it possible to attend the concert, but also helps to support those who are most vulnerable. The initiative allowed MSE to continue to contribute in a tangible way to the food support network, demonstrating how music can be a powerful tool to do good and bring people together.
The festival's closing night took place on 22 June in the car park in front of the University of Basilicata. This year, on the MSE Volm.10 stage, the nationally renowned guest was MADMAN, who thrilled the audience with his performance. Before his performance, however, the evening also saw a number of young local talent and Erasmus students take the stage, bringing the energy and creativity of the local and international community to the stage. This moment made the closing concert even more special, highlighting the variety and richness of cultures present at the festival.
