Goal of the Activity

To allow the participants to experience one of the all-time most beloved and famous Christmas market in Strasbourg,
which not only they will have opportunity to enjoy the food and entertainment in the market itself, but also to get to know and make new friends :)

Description

The Christmas season has started and a visit to Strasbourg, the capital of Christmas, can not be missing! Join us for a trip to the Strasbourg Christmas market.
We will meet on Sunday, 5th of December at 9.40am at the main train station at platform 2, please be on time since the train is not waiting for us. Attention: Those who are not students can book an additional group ticket (RegioTicket24 for a group of 5 people: 5€ per person).
(Students can take the tram and train for free on Sundays. You just need the: „19 Uhr Nachweis“: https://vag-onlineticket.de/product/93/show link does not work on mobile devices)

Around 12.30pm we will arrive to Strasbourg. After our arrival we will have a typical lunch from the region of Alsace: ALL YOU CAN EAT FLAMMKUCHEN+1L beer/soft drink! Afterwards you will have around 3-4h to visit Strasbourg and its city centre and of course the beautiful Christmas market!
The whole trip will cost you only 16€ (22€ without ESNcard). The costs include the train ride (if you are a student, if not there will be additional costs for the group ticket) and the all you can eat lunch. Please don't forget to take enough food and drinks for the time after lunch and some cash since the Christmas stalls most likely do not accept card payments. Around 7.30pm we will head back to Freiburg and arrive there around 10pm.

We are looking forward to having a great day with you in Strasbourg.

Information in case the event is sold out:
You can also travel to Strasbourg on your own: The ticket we will use is called Europass-Family, it can only be bought online here (link only works on laptop/PC) or in the mobile phone app DB Navigator (see the instructions below). It costs €14.50 and is valid for 2 adults for 24 hours from the set time period. It is valid from the station Ringsheim until Offenburg-Kehl, as well as in Strasbourg. The ticket covers all means of transport in this area, including buses and trams in Strasbourg.
If you are a student at the University of Freiburg, you can travel for free on Sundays until Herbolzheim. You only need a ticket from Herbolzheim to Ringsheim (1 stop by regional train), which costs 1.50€.

Instructions for the DB Navigator App: Open the DB Navigator app, enter Ringsheim-Offenburg as the route (don't put Strasbourg as destination because the app will then automatically show you the expensive foreign country prices), then click on "Ticket selection" to find the Europass Family (2 people) or Europass Single ticket and buy it.
Please note: Make sure that the date and time of your ticket is set correctly! The ticket will be valid for 24 hours from this time.

We will take the train at 10:02am if you want to travel with us :)

The event is wheelchair accessible!
