Goal of the Activity

Promote foreign cultures among local students and fight stereotypes; motivate locals to learn languages, be more open to international experiences and support the multicultural exchange.

Description

Erasmus in Schools is one of the most prominent ESN projects, which is organised regularly in those countries, where the legislative allows it. Following the main idea behind the project the exchange students visited local schools and allowed local students to directly meet other cultures and promote cultural exchange. Kindergartens, elementary schools, and high schools were participating - therefore, students of all age categories were involved. For younger kids, simple games and songs were presented, while for older students, usually a country presentation and question round was prepared. Teachers appreciated that local students could get a direct experience with native speakers (not only English, but also French), which helped students with their language studies. It also allowed students to meet other cultures, which helped their self-development, and it helped with the prevention of building prejudice towards foreigners.
