Goal of the Activity

Show internationals the harbour of Hamburg and encourage them to use the bike more often

Description

Hamburg has the third biggest harbor of Europe - it’s too big to walk around. So we will explore it via bike! 🚴🚢Come with us to see the industrial heart of hamburg, crossing 2 container terminals, huge ships, factories, power plants, hamburg largest bridges and more. We will also share with you some interesting facts about the places we will see and the history of the harbor 💡

You’ll need some water, and well, a bike. If you don’t have your own bike, you could get one from Stadtrad, a public rental service for bikes (https://stadtrad.hamburg.de/en/home). Just make sure that you show up at the meeting point with a bike which is good enough to use for 20 km 🙂 It will be ca. 2 hours of biking and 20 km, we’ll stop several times on the way to look at things and eat snacks! The tracks are suitable for any kind of bike. Here you can see the route:

We’ll meet at Landungsbrücken and end up at the ferry station Waltershof. From there we’ll take our bikes with us on the boat (line 61, free with semesterticket) back to Landungsbrücken. On our way to Landungsbrücken, wee’ll cross Dammtor train station at 13:15. So if you want to join us there and go to Landungsbrücken together, you can do that (let us know!).

If you are very sensitive to smells, then you might want to join another upcoming biking tour 😷 And in case of bad weather, the tour will take place on the weekend.
