The objectives of this activity are to:
- raise awareness among young people to respect the environment and promote responsible consumption of food
- raise awareness among young people in the recovery of urban areas to create projects of environmental sensitivity. In fact, the urban garden of this area was an illegal dump and thanks to the local citizens it has been converted into an urban garden for the city.
- show the existence of this kind of unconventional realities
- knowledge of local associations
- inform about the fundamental role that bees play for our planet through a detailed explanation and a visit to the beehives there
- favor the integration of people with physical and mental problems
- spend an afternoon in the middle of nature, even if inside the city
The activity was realized at Orti collettivi Alta Parella - Pellerina, with the active participation of their volunteers. It was mainly centered on the explanation about bees and their important active role for the biodiversity (In fact, it was realised the day after the World Bee Day). Participants were also able to see the bees during the explanation. In addition, a guided tour of the trees and plants present in the area was made.
After the exposition, the participants were able to attend a concert. The members of the musical group were mainly people with physical and mental problems doing music therapy thanks to a local cooperative called Esserci.
The activity ended with a buffet organized inside the urban garden.
