To learn Turkish culture, we take our students to a traditional Turkish bath and, on the occasion of UNESCO Day, visit the Aslanhane Mosque. (Which is the only place in the UNESCO Heritage List, and is located in Ankara city centre.)
The event started with participants taking the public transportation for the hidden beauty of Ankara, Hamamönü. After reaching the "Hamam" males and females were apart for the bath. About 2 hours given to the groups. The participants really enjoyed the bath experience. They talked about the cultural Turkish bath sayings and customs. Afterwards, the Aslanhane Mosque was visited. The group loved the atmosphere of the mosque and the speech of the müezzin. Being barefoot and sitting on the floor in the mosque surprised and comforted the participants. The mosque trip enhanced the cultural showcase of the day, as UNESCO Day was mentioned.
