The goal of this hike was to challenge participants with a more demanding trail, encourage exploration of Budapest’s hidden natural and historical gems, and strengthen bonds within the community through a shared sense of adventure and accomplishment.

We’re excited to invite you on an adventure to experience the wild beauty of Budapest's surrounding trails! This hike is designed for those with a passion for real hiking – expect some challenges, but with that comes an incredible reward in scenery.
🥾 What to Expect? 🥾
Prepare for a trail that’s both scenic and a bit challenging, perfect for nature lovers looking to escape the city and connect with the untamed side of Budapest. We’ll explore hidden paths, take in breathtaking views, and share the experience with both familiar and new friends. This hike is better suited for those with some hiking experience, as the terrain will be rugged and may include steep inclines and forest paths.
We are going to visit 3 canyons during the hike and also one abandoned military base from the socialist period of Hungary. We will have two main breaks during the day so we can keep up with the schedule, so please be prepared!
🍂 When?: 9th of November, Saturday
🍂 Meeting Time: 8:20 (train leaves at 8:40)
🍂 Meeting Point: H5 train stop at Margit híd, budai hídfő
🍂 Estimated Return to Budapest: 5PM
Important things to bring:
- Country pass or Pest County pass or you have to buy train tickets at the station (we'll help you with it)
- Valid ID if you have 🆔
- Water to keep hydrated 💧
- Snacks or a packed lunch – we’ll have a break to refuel 🥪🍏
- Warm clothes and a raincoat for unpredictable weather 🧥
- Sturdy hiking boots or any comfortable shoes for the hike for the rougher terrain 🥾
