The goals of this activity are:
● Economic support: the goal is to fight the constantly increasing taxation imposed on hygiene products by offering a free service that the entire student community can use.
● Inclusivity: the position of the pads’ vending machines has been imagined to give everyone the possibility of using the service, respecting the freedom and the identity of each person.
● Sustainability: with this project, we want to raise consumers’ awareness of pollution caused by the excessive use of plastic, and to promote the use of products made with more sustainable materials, like cotton.
● Culture: one of the goals of the “Tampon Box” is not to be a one-time event, but to establish the beginning of a broad and constant cultural work that can promote equal opportunities in their most extensive meaning also with an aimed activity of awareness realized with themed conventions and university meeting
The “Tampon Box” project was born from a proposal of the student council of Università Politecnica delle Marche.
The realization of this project was possible thanks to an experimental approach, in which students were directly collaborating and sharing to promote initiatives coming from the real needs of the student community.
The student unions that accepted the challenge (Gulliver, ESN Ancona and Jepa) created a working group that set up the “Tampon Box” project.
