This project was born out of the need to strengthen the skills of ESN volunteers, enabling them to increase the impact of their local work and contribute more effectively to the goals of inclusion and active citizenship that ESN promotes. Currently, volunteers face challenges such as a lack of training in specific skills, which can limit their involvement in larger-scale activities. By creating a platform for debate and training, the aim is not only to bridge these gaps, but also to open up space for reflections on Freedom and Citizenship, crucial themes in times of rapid social change. This project proposes a model of informed and conscious volunteering, promoting exchanges between cultures and strengthening the European spirit.
The South Western European Platform is an initiative designed to train Erasmus Student Network (ESN) volunteers from south-western European countries (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Malta) through an immersive training program. The project aims to improve the quality and impact of these volunteers' activities in their communities, promoting the exchange of good practices and fostering involvement in ESN's national and international structures. The volunteers will play a central role in organizing the event, coordinating training sessions, cultural activities (such as the Flag Parade and themed dinners) and moments of sharing experiences. The event will also provide a safe space to debate themes such as Freedom, Citizenship and Participation, fostering a more inclusive and collaborative European vision.
