The main aim was to provide our communication channel audience with useful information about both topics, and to normalise conversations about it.
Being our audience mostly international students and local students, we intended to approach topics that can be seen as difficult or taboo, like sexual life behaviours and DSTs, and mental health topics like anxiety.
As per the objectives, we intended to sensitize and involve the audience on the thematics approached through the live conversations, develop the cooperation between ESN Portugal and other youth student’s organisations in Portugal, to capacitate the audience on how to deal with anxiety personal or others’ situations, educate people about AIDS and HIV and it’s myths and truths.
During the health and wellbeing week, from the 3rd to the 10th of May 2021, ESN Portugal, developed a communication campaign to approach the thematics of mental and sexual health.
In cooperation with the National Federation of Nursing Student Associations (FNAEE) and the National Organisation of Psychology Students (ANEP), the communication campaign consisted of two posts on ESN Portugal social media - one dedicated to Sexual Helath and the second to Mental Health.
These posts were followed by a live conversation on Instagram with representatives of both FNAEE and ANEP for each theme, respectively, led by two of the support positions of ESN Portugal, our Sports Coordinator and our Education Community Manager.
