To create a cooperative project as a team with the aim of collecting donations for a good cause.
In collaboration with the charity organisation "Caritas", the Austrian section ESN Uni Wien took part in the project called "Reverse Advent Calendar". The idea behind it is simple: instead of having a traditional advent calendar, where you take out a little gift/sweet every day from the 1st to the 24th of December, you do the opposite – you gift something daily. We prepared a Christmassy looking box in our office and our team members added items to it. Caritas provided a list of necessities for various non-profit institutions. We chose an accommodation for underage refugees, where clothing was needed as well as long-lasting food. On top of that, some gifts like games or sweets were added. On the 24th of December, the filled box was handed over to the institution. In the end, our team collected so many items that we could donate gift-boxes to three more facilities and surprise them right for Christmas Eve. People who benefited from the donations were refugees, homeless, and children who were taken away from their family to protect them. The project was coordinated by the national Social Inclusion Coordination of Austria.
