The goal of the activity was to show the city's historical and artistic heritage and to make the students mingle with the locals, to allow them discovering the less touristic look of the city.
On 25/26 November 2023, we spent two beautiful days in Palermo, the capital city of Sicily. During the morning of the first day, we had just the time to settle down in the hotel and it was almost time for lunch. We didn't hesitate to go eat in the famous historic market "Vucciria". A special place where international students could experience the gastronomic culture and folklore of the Sicilian tradition. During the afternoon, the volunteers of ESN Palermo joined us and guided us on a city tour. We saw a lot of monuments, squares and the majestic cathedral. In the evening we had a party all together in a disco that offered a wide range of different musical genres and styles. The next day we walked through the characteristic streets and stopped only to take a lot of photographs and to eat street food, such as "pain ca meusa", "panelle" and "arancine".
