To raise awareness among Erasmus students about disaster preparedness and emergency response, equipping them with essential knowledge and practical strategies to act safely and responsibly during emergencies.
In collaboration with DEAK (Disaster Search & Rescue Association / Doğal Afet Arama ve Kurtarma Derneği), an online disaster awareness training was held for Erasmus students. The session aimed to inform international participants about how to stay safe and respond effectively during various types of emergencies, including earthquakes, fires, and other natural or man-made disasters.
The training was delivered by experienced trainer Rüzgar Oğulcan Karslı from DEAK and included both theoretical knowledge and practical advice tailored to everyday scenarios. The content was presented in Turkish and simultaneously translated to English to ensure accessibility for all participants. The interactive format of the event encouraged questions and discussions, helping students become more aware of local safety procedures and resources available in Turkey.
This initiative not only supported the personal safety of Erasmus students during their time abroad but also promoted a sense of preparedness, responsibility, and community awareness within a multicultural group.
