Hiking in Olympus mountain and visiting the archaeological site of Dion.
Attention everyone !!!
It's time for you to explore nature while in Greece How are you going to do that? But of course by participating in the Olympus hiking event!!!
You'll be hiking at Olympus and you'll visit the archaeological site of Dion. The Physical Education Office of the University of Thessaly in Larisa (Gaiopolis) in the framework οf sports and cultural activities organizes for all students / of the University of Thessaly, and erasmus students, on October 23rd, a one-day training exercise (walking) in Olympus and a visit of the archaeological site of Dion.
The bus will depart at 6:45 am in front of the main entrance of the University of Thessaly for anyone staying in Hobs and for those staying in the center will go to 7:00 from St. Achillion (Boukefalas statue).
If you are in Volos you'll have to take the 6:35 am bus to Larisa, that arrives at 7:23 and you'll be picked up from there.

What you should take with you:
- Water (usually estimate how much you need and get more).
- Something sweet and something salty (these foods or drinks help to better fluid retention under the sun).
- If you are allergic to anything or need medication for anything, make sure to take your medication with you.
- Sunglasses
- A bag to throw my trash inside. No garbage in nature!
- Try to fit anything you need in your bag, your hands are useful and should be free.
What to wear:
- A blouse that covers the shoulders.
- A thin blouse heat (for when we move) and a thicker (for when you stop).
- Long pants.
- Jacket.
- Clothes that allow movement.
- 2 pairs of socks.
- Closed shoes as more stable and a more sculpted outsole made.
- If the weather is sunny, high protection sunscreen, Liposan for lips hat and scarf on the neck. Bag with clothes to change (2 T-shirts, socks, underwear.
Attractions – Historical
OLYMPUS : The highest mountain of Greece ( Mytikas 2918 meters ) .
This is the mountain in which the 12 gods of ancient Greeks were living. The first who conquered the summit of Olympus were 2 Switzerland climbers at 1913. At 1938 one part of Olympus declared as a national park and from 1981 was under the care of Unesco .
On top of Saint Anthony there were findings of coins and pottery finds which ensure the existence of temple of Zeus.
