Goal of the Activity

To ensure that the adaptation processes to business life, which is the next step after graduation, are carried out in the most comfortable way.

 

Increasing their self-confidence and making it easier for them to reach the energy and power they need by enabling them to discover their motivations

 

To provide up-to-date information about the job search process they will encounter at the end of the university

 

Developing social, digital skills and business-related skills of participants

 

 Supporting them to find internships related to their departments

 

To support them to share their experiences with their peers from different universities and departments and to contribute to their network development.

 

Supporting them to become competent for the 21st century business world

 

Bringing them together with the human resources experts of important companies and enabling them to experience their first job interview in the future as a simulation before it takes place.

 

 

Description

 

The "Next Step" project is a 5-week project that includes trainings to increase the employability of undergraduate students in the country, to strengthen their adaptation to the business life they will start after their university life, and to develop their work-related skills.

 

In the 2-step application opened for the project developed in this context, the communication skills, teamwork skills, flexibility and adaptability, openness to development and self-confidence of the candidates were evaluated. 520 people from 116 different universities applied to the project.

 

The first 4 weeks of the Next Step project have been shaped to provide project participants the qualifications that they will become strong candidates for job applications.

 In the calendar designed to achieve this goal in the most efficient way, the experience was conveyed about how the training to be provided during the project with the 21st Century Competencies and Their Reflections on Business Life training will support the participants in the 21st-century business life and throughout the job searching process.

 

In the following weeks, 23 motivations were explained alongside various theories with Self Awareness and Motivation Training, a training designed with experiential learning theories of non-formal education instructors, and a suitable environment were created for the participants to discover their motivations. With the Psychological Resilience and Stress Management training, they were informed about how to maintain their well-being and maintain balance when faced with stress in all areas of life. After providing the necessary information, brainstorming, and explaining the global development goals in the 2-stage Entrepreneurship training, the participants were divided into teams and each presented their own projects and received feedback at the end of the training. The team that presented the first selected project was given a discount on the Next Generation Digital Learning platform. With Public Speaking Skills, Google Drive Skills and Professional Language, Effective Communication and Constructive Feedback trainings, they have been provided with the social and digital skills they will need in the business life. Participants who had developed many qualifications until this section were given training on CV preparation and job search process in the 4th week and feedback was provided about their CVs.

 

In the last week of the project, job application simulation processes started in the light of all the trainings the participants received during the project. HR professionals working in different companies from each of Turkey at this stage, the jobs that have prepared specifically for the field of participants was communicated to participants.

 

After the ads received, participants were given 1 week to prepare for job applications and interviews. In the last week of the Next Step project, one-on-one job interviews were made with the human resources experts of important companies of the country, and they were provided with feedback on the points the participants should improve.

 

Yinkader (innovative human resources association), one of our project partners, has contributed to the project being heard and spread by the masses with its diversity of human resources. In addition, its human resources experts took an important role in the job application and recruitment simulation phase of the project. In the first stage of the training named CV preparation and job search process given by the president of the association, the structure of the ideal CV was explained, and then the necessary feedback was given by examining the CVs of the participants. At the end of the training, participants were informed about current job search platforms.

 

Another project partner, Yönderle, which was established as the New Generation Digital Learning Platform and has trainers from all fields, has been supported by interactive trainings designed to develop social and digital skills enriched with the experiential learning methods of the project.
