Goal of the Activity

The goal of this event is for Erasmus students to get to know the city of Ioannina and get to visit Meteora.

Description

Join us in our first trip of the semester in Meteora and Ioannina! One of the most iconic sights and one of the most scenic towns in Greece!

Meteora is an outstanding and unique rock formation, located near the town of Kalambaka, in the region of Thessaly. The site hosts one of the largest and most impressive complexes of monasteries in the world, built upon natural pillars.

Ioannina (often called Giannena) is the largest city in the region of Epirus. It stands out for its beautiful lake that has a small island within it (you can visit it via small ferries), its big number of stone-built houses, its parks, its nearby mountains with the well-known villages and obviously its rich history throughout the centuries.

Don’t miss out!
