Do you want to bring your language learning to another level? Or simply learn some tricks to improve your future learning? Then this is the right place for you.

Together with passionate linguists, you will explore some pretty neat learning possibilities invisible to mortal untrained eyes!

Description

This class takes place every other Thursday from 20h till 21h and will make use of the active learning principle as often as possible - hopefully breaking the stereotype of frontal presentations. This means you will engage with the teacher and actively think about the topics at hand. Each class is unique with its own set of tips, meaning that each class is a standalone event. You can visit them in any quantity in any order and you will not be lost.

Anticipated topics to be explored as below

Sound: how to learn any sound for any language, how to discover the inventory of sounds for a given language, rules of sounds, and common phenomena that happens pretty often in languages

(Optional homework: watching an animated video which explains amazingly the relationship between language and writing)

Text: how can we use modern technologies to optimize the words we learn when trying to learn a language, demonstration of language corpus

Typology: what are the important aspects of any language, how can we use this knowledge when we learn a language

Beyond: an open discussion about all other aspects entering language learning such as intonation, stress, idioms, variations, and more!
