Goal of the Activity

Through this activity, International Students got to visit Knossos, one of the most important curtural-heritage places of not only Crete, but the whole Greece too! There was also a guided tour by the event's coordinator, through the ruins and remains of the city and the museum. The goal of this visit was to learn about the significance of Ancient Minoan civilisation and its impact of today's modern world.

At last, a picnic was set up where everyone enjoyed that sunny day, reconnected with nature and interacted with people

Description

As a start of the Social Impact Days, ESN HMU Heraklion combined successfully an interesting and informative museum visit with the humoristic description and story-telling of our lovely coordinator and head of the International Relations Office at HMU. Students had the chance to learn about the Minoan ancient civilisation of Knossos, Europe's oldest Palace and Kingdom!🏛 A walk through the historic remains of this city brings you back into time. The scenic wall paintings that stand in time for centuries and the nature surrounding the '"palace", with the warm and sunny weather, set the perfect conditions for a Picnic!! Everyone can bring snacks and music (don't forget sunscreen!😉) and enjoy the rest of the day.

Join this event & learn about the historical Knossos Palace. Getting to know other cultures and civilisations creates respect and mutual appriciation for other countries1!
