Goal was to foster an open discussion about the countries presented by the exchange students and more importantly their cultural differences.
International Students prepared a day regarding their homelands, starting with a presentation on a topic of their choosing regarding their country or region, followed by presenting their favourite frood from that country and ending with a 1 hour quiz. Example of the topics: How a battle in a small region in Spain change history and how it affects us until today or how to talk to a person to that country to avoid stereotyping.
The presentations were then separated by continent and each continent received a day for the presentation: Monday for Europe, Tuesday for Anglo America, and so on. During the pauses after each presentations there was food from each country and after that the quiz. The winners of the quiz received a prize on Friday as a way to entice participation in multiple days.
On Wednesday the quiz for LATAM was cancelled and instead a quiz about the LGBTQ+ community was held, however we consider it a separate activity from the international youth week.
Organised was to make a presentation on friday in cooperation with a volunteering organisation from ukraine to get some donations, however the partner organisation cancelled in the last moment.
Using the cooperation with the Youth Center we tried to include as any members of the local community as possible and for some days they were about 50% of participants (between 10-20 of the local youth community participated each day).
