We aim to provide the international students with cultural exchange - to promote their country and its cuisine. At the same time we want to provide them an experience with local Czech cuisine.
We organised this event to provide a cultural exchange to the incoming students. The participants were supposed to cook/bake a meal typical for their country and bring it to the event (prepared meal served as an entrance ticket). They could have prepared their meal on their own, but also in a team - representing their country together with other exchange students. Therefore, they needed to use their cooking skills as well as to show good teamwork.
After that, students had the opportunity to try meals from different countries and to promote their country and traditional meals to others. Part of the event was also a competition for a country with the best meal, for which students could vote themselves.
Our section also provided them with many traditional Czech meals, snacks and sweets to introduce them to the culture of the country they were going to spend their exchange.
The students were very active not only bringing a lot of food, but also taking it very seriously - some of them promoted their plates by amazing plating.
