The main goal of this activity was to make use of the broad variety of places that our exchange students are from and share the typical meals, snacks and drinks from each country. Naturally, while tasting food from other places, students are encouraged to also chat with their colleagues and therefore the cultural exchange is not only at the tasting level, but also at a personal one.
This event is usually among the most popular ones of the Welcome weeks - and so it was this time. We met at a university canteen which offered us the necessary space. Each student or a group of students brought a meal, snack or drink that is typical in their country of origin. The menu was very varied, some students brought appetizers, some brought main courses and some of them also prepared desserts. The students were assigned to tables according to countries, e. g. a French table, an Indian table, a German table, etc. Our volunteers also prepared a Czech table with typical meals, sweet treats and our favourite non-alcoholic drink. After the tasting, it was time for a competition whose team was the best. The teams in first three places won a special prize.
