The primary goal of this activity was to showcase the natural beauty and rich cultural heritage surrounding L'Aquila while fostering cross-cultural exchange between international students and the local community. By embarking on a scenic hike to our final destination, we also prioritized physical well-being and active lifestyle promotion.
We reached the charming village of Calascio by public transportation. From there, we embarked on a leisurely hike to the castle, following a trail suitable for all. Along the way, we had the opportunity to interact with fellow tourists and local residents, while immersing ourselves in the stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage of the area.
Upon reaching the castle, our volunteer guides shared fascinating insights into its history and provided information about the surrounding mountains and villages. In the second part of our adventure, we returned to Calascio and enjoyed a short tour of the village.
