This event aimes to provide cultural enrichment to Erasmus students and therefore, it can be cathegorized as an ESN cause. Furthermore, it introduces the most beautifull Czech heritage which most of the students would miss during their Erasmus. In addition, depending on the galleries, this event can take the participants to new parts of the Capital.
The event started very smoothly. Most of the students got the tickets for the same bus, one ran late and had to join us at the first gallery. We took the metro to Můstek station, exited at Jungmanova street where I explained them the place’s history shortly (history of Prague’s urbanism and architecture). We continued to the first museum which has relocated to Na Příkopě street, next to Černá růže. I explained the impact Mucha’s art has had and what he has left behind.
After the visit which took about an hour, we decided to walk to the river to visit the farmer’s market at Rašínovo nábřeží (Náplavka) for lunch. I gave them 40 minutes to visit and meet me at pre-decided spot.
At that point, I had lost half of my group because they decided to eat elsewhere and joined us at the end of the event. It was a harsh dissruption.
The second galerry, SmetanaQ, is located next to Národní divadlo. It is free entry and open to contemporary artists. We finished the event around 15.00 there.
