To provide an opportunity to explore the cultural and historical richness of Eskişehir while fostering social connections between students from different universities and cultural backgrounds. By organizing visits to key landmarks and offering activities that promote interaction, the event aimed to enhance the students' cultural understanding, strengthen their sense of community, and create an opportunity for cultural exchange.
The trip began with a meeting at Ankara Bus Station. After a pleasant 3-hour journey, bus arrived at Eskişehir Bus Station. Participants were greeted by a ESN’er from the Eskişehir Technical University, who guided us to our first stop: the historic Odunpazarı district, which holds great significance in Eskişehir’s history.
In Odunpazarı, students were given free time, allowing them to explore this charming historical area at their own pace. Afterward, everyone gathered at the city center for a traditional Eskişehir breakfast at a local restaurant named Arasta Kırım Tatar Çibörek House known for its famous "çibörek." Here, the students enjoyed interacting with the locals while experiencing this unique culinary delight, making for a rich and enjoyable experience.
Following breakfast, trip continued with visiting Türkiye’s first and biggest Wax Museum. Afterward, we headed to the Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM). Here, students were able to enrich their artistic and cultural perspectives.
Next, participants headed to Sazova Park, one of Eskişehir’s most iconic recreational areas. Here, students had the chance to see the famous Fairy Tale Castle and Pirate Ship, as well as spend quality time with one another, deepening their connections. After two hours in the park, we set off towards Porsuk River, another important landmark in the city.
At Porsuk River, students were given free time to enjoy gondola rides, explore the surroundings, or play games. After this, everyone gathered to head to Barikat for dinner. Thanks to pre-ordered meals, the service was swift, allowing students to make the most of their time socializing with ESN’ers and Erasmus students from Eskişehir Technical University.
The end of the event concluded with students bidding farewell to one another and headed to the Eskişehir Train Station.
