To celebrate and promote the cultural
diversity and opportunities provided by the Erasmus program. Encourage both Erasmus and local students to embrace and learn from each other’s cultures, fostering an environment of inclusivity, friendship, and international collaboration. Inspiring more students to participate and benefit from Erasmus opportunities.
This year, the Erasmus Days is hosted by Ankara University. Celebrations took place on the Tandogan Campus, Sun Square. The festivities started at 9:00 AM with an inspiring opening speech from our Vice Rector and key representatives from the National Agency with a sign language interpreter, setting a warm and welcoming tone for the day. These opening remarks celebrated the spirit of Erasmus and underscored
Ankara University’s dedication to fostering a diverse, inclusive environment where students can explore new cultures and build international friendships. The presence of National Board of the ESN Türkiye added further depth, with their perspectives enriching the significance of the occasion. Following the speeches, students were invited to visit a series of beautifully arranged stands spread across Sun Square. Each
stand showcased unique projects, cultural displays, and
activities that allowed participants to engage with the Erasmus community and learn more about various initiatives. A food and beverage stations offered an array of tastes from different cultures, creating a sensory journey that brought the diversity of Erasmus to life. Students and guests mingled around these stands, enjoying delicious international delicacies and learning
more about the opportunities Erasmus offers, enhancing the cultural experience of the day.
Once everyone had a chance to explore the stands, the event continued with games, competitions, and interactive activities designed to foster connection and engagement among attendees. Students participated with great enthusiasm, enjoying the friendly competitions that filled Sun Square with laughter and excitement. To help students capture these memories, a dedicated photo area was set up, allowing them to
take memorable pictures that would serve as keepsakes of the day. Here, students captured the spirit of Erasmus Days, building meaningful memories and friendships.
As the day continued, interviews were conducted with both Erasmus and Ankara University students. Many shared their personal experiences and the positive impact of Erasmus on their academic and personal lives. ESN Turkey’s Vice President, Efe Berke Akkaya, also took the opportunity to highlight ESN’s mission and the support it provides to Erasmus students. This segment, broadcasted nationally, offered valuable insights into the Erasmus experience and showcased Ankara University’s role in promoting international collaboration. The event officially finished at 3:30 PM; however, the festivities
continued well into the evening, with an outdoor DJ
performance keeping the energy high and the celebrations alive. Students danced, laughed, and celebrated under the open sky, marking the end of a truly unforgettable Erasmus Days event. Sun Square remained full of life as the sun set, leaving all participants with fond memories and a deeper
appreciation of the Erasmus community.
