As ESN Çağ University, we created the Empower Newbies project as a result of the meetings we had during the summer in order to cope with the human resource problem we faced due to limited number of students in our university. Within the scope of this project, we aimed to support ESN members in their adaptation processes, to develop their social, digital and organizational skills that they can use during their time as ESNer and in their future careers, and to develop sustainable human resources for ESN by establishing a win-win balance with the satisfaction they receive from this development. In this way, it is also aimed that active members contribute to active citizenship.
For this purpose, we established 3 committees, namely the Strategy and Project Committee, the Event Committee and the Web committee, to support the local board from the members we have selected with the application form among our active members and to train ESNers who will benefit our network. ESN 101, How to Speak ESNish, Effective Communication, Tool Usage Training, Becoming an ESNer, How Does ESN Work, How to Manage a Project, Self-Awareness and Motivation, Stress Management, Built a Teamwork, Creativity, Describing National and International Committees training were provided. In addition, a brainstorming workshops were held for one hour a week, their situation analysis and crisis management skills were supported with dramas, the area where they could apply what they learned by giving various tasks was recognized and the knowledge they learned was reinforced and brainstormed about new project and activity ideas.
One of the goals of the project is to help the members of the committee to find their inner motivation in their adventures and to increase their awareness towards themselves and the environment.
