The goal of the Discover Ticino project is simple yet profound: to let students discover and appreciate the beauty of Ticino, Switzerland. Through a series of mountain hikes around Lugano each semester, the project aims to connect students with the natural wonders of the region. It's about more than just physical activity; it's about fostering a sense of community, providing a space for students to enjoy the outdoors together, and creating lasting memories against the backdrop of Ticino's stunning landscapes. Ultimately, the project encourages students to embrace the joy of exploration and build a meaningful connection with the local environment.
Organized by ESN Lugano, the Discover Ticino project offers students a dynamic exploration of the region through a variety of hikes that change each semester. This semester's itinerary includes captivating destinations such as Monte Brè, Monte San Salvatore, Monte Bar, and Gandria. These hikes provide a diverse range of experiences, from the panoramic views atop Monte Brè to the cultural richness of Gandria. The goal is to not only showcase the natural beauty of Ticino but also to create a platform for students to come together, hike, and appreciate the unique characteristics of each location. With an ever-changing landscape, participants can look forward to discovering the distinctive charm and allure of Ticino throughout the semester.
