Goal of the Activity

The aim of this activity was to show Erasmus students Cracow, one of the oldest city in Poland, with rich history and cultural importance. The trip focused on visiting crucial historical destinations, must-see for every foreigner coming to Poland, such as Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Wieliczka Salt Mine.

Description

This two-day trip blended history, culture and scenic beauty of Cracow, making it truly unforgettable. International students experienced much with a profound visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, reflecting on World War II's events as they walk through preserved barracks, gas chambers, and exhibitions that honor the victims, with a tour guide to enrich their knowledge. They also explored Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the world’s oldest, featuring an underground labyrinth of tunnels, salt-carved chapels, and stunning saline sculptures. They enjoyed a serene Wisła River cruise, offering a unique perspective of Cracow's skyline and landmarks such as Wawel Castle, Tyniec Abbey, and the city’s picturesque bridges. Throiugh the guided tour, they had the opportunity to see Cracow’s iconic spots, including the the vibrant Kazimierz District known for its Jewish heritage, and the Old Town.
