A Facebook community established in 2017 with the aim of encouraging full-time students studying in Poland to participate in an exchange program and to make mobility-related knowledge more available to them by connecting them with Erasmus Alumni. The majority of the posts in the community are about students' doubts, seeking guidance from people who have visited particular locations, accommodation recommendations, the internship application process, and internship companies that employ Erasmus+ interns.
A dedicated ESN Poland’s team manages the platform, takes care of general administration on a daily basis, accepting posts and members of the group on a daily basis to prevent spam and to maintain a positive environment, keeping the activity up but not overwhelming the members. On top of that the team is responsible for planning and organizing activities such as: webinars and information sharing sessions, topic-specific posts. They analyse the most common student posts each month and prepare future ESN PL posts based on the interests of students, including graphics and encouraging them to comment, debate, or participate in surveys (examples of the topics: accommodation - dorm or rented room, foreign currency accounts, insurance etc.).
Every day, between 3 and 7 posts from students requesting help and advice are posted. On top of that, we have planned between 3 and 4 of our posts each week, depending on the hours of the group's highest activity. All posts are tailored to the season (e.g., Erasmus+ studies recruitment process, holidays mean Erasmus+ internships, at the start of each semester, we publish details about the possibility of having an ESNcard in ESN sections abroad and its advantages, tips on finding housing etc.). The topics and plans of the posts are created based on statistical analysis of posts added by the group’s members, popularity and interactions of the posts.
The most popular activity are the webinars we organise about specific places in Europe where former Erasmus+ students prepare presentations about their stay and speak about their experience. We also collaborate with the National Agency that prepared 2 other webinars about general rules of Erasmus+. The latest webinars were: a coordinated live debate about going on Erasmus during the last semester of studies and writing the thesis abroad and another webinar about European Solidarity Corps.
