Get to know Turku and make new friends while having a lot of fun. The race will get students through the main places of student life within the city. They will also meet actives ESNers, board members and Finnish international tutors holding several checkpoints throughout the evening.
The checkpoints were hosted in 7 bars/restaurants welcoming us for this event and providing discounts for the ESN students. Each checkpoint was made out of a game or activity related to Finland, Finnish culture/language or to Turku in general. The checkpoints were hosted by several active ESN members, board members, international tutors and Finnish students. The international students were divided into groups in front of the cathedral. Each group had around 7/8 people. They were then directed to a specific checkpoint and could follow the next ones with the map of the city made by the event organisers. The event was not designed as a stressfull race but rather as a meet and chill, as there was no pressure to finish the race and go through all the checkpoints. Certain groups did, although others went to two or three and chilled together with ESN actives/board and Finnish students.
