Cappadocia Trip

On the night of December 21st, we began our adventure. After arriving in Ürgüp around 7 a.m., we checked into the hotel and departed from there to visit the Göreme Open Air Museum, which has been a member of the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1984. We were all mesmerized by the beauty of the churches from the 10th, 11th, and 12th centuries. Although the paintings on the walls have been erased in places, their beauty has not diminished. You may even feel like you can see the traces of the years more clearly. Then, we had lunch in a buffet restaurant frequented by all tours and tourists. We finished the first day by attending the Pottery Workshop and learning how much labor this profession requires and how long it takes to make each piece. We ended the day at Paşabağlar Monks Valley. 

We had breakfast with the participants on the second day of our journey. Then we did trekking at Meskendir. We had the opportunity to enjoy nature and fresh air. We learned new information about the stones and trees we encountered along the way. After that, we visited Özkonak Underground City. Can you believe that in such a narrow and small space some people stayed there for days in the past? After a short lunch break, we had an ATV tour, one of the indispensable parts of the Cappadocia trip. Then, we went to some popular spots to see the beautiful Cappadocia view and took good pictures together. We closed the second day by going to Turkish Night and dancing a lot.

On the third and last day of our adventure, we went to Ihlara Valley. After feeding ducks and cats, we visited Selime Monastery. Both were so beautiful. Then we reluctantly ended our trip and headed back to Eskişehir.
