The main goal of this activity was to offer Erasmus students an engaging introduction to Campobasso by helping them become familiar with the city and its surroundings. Through the exploration of its most remarkable landmarks, the tour aimed to enhance their cultural awareness, deepen their understanding of local history, and encourage them to feel more connected to the place where they will be living. The activity also intended to foster a sense of belonging and curiosity, making students feel more at home while discovering the stories behind Campobasso’s monuments, churches, and squares.
The activity consisted of a bilingual guided tour, delivered in both English and Spanish, which led participants through the historic centre of Campobasso and up to the hilltop where the impressive Monforte Castle dominates the skyline. Throughout the walk, the guides offered rich historical context, engaging explanations, and entertaining anecdotes about each site visited. The route allowed students to experience the city’s charm first-hand, admire iconic locations, and learn about Campobasso’s cultural heritage in an interactive and accessible way.
