For incoming students to learn more about Burns Night and ESN Edinburgh. Students from ESN UfG can also attend, so this is an opportunity to get to know other exchange students and to score a free tour guide for when we can travel again.
Hi everyone!
Welcome (back) to Edinburgh! We hope you're all enjoying your first few weeks of the semester, regardless where you are in the world. Our first event of the semester is taking place this Monday the 25th at 7pm (UK time). We're having a Burns Night event, with our very own chairman! This event is open to everyone: exchange or international students, local students, students from other universities beside UoE, or even non-students.
The University of Glasgow ESN section will be joining us for this event, so this is a perfect opportunity to make connections and get a free tour guide and cheap accommodation for when we can travel again!
Because this is our first event, we will introduce our society and ESN in general. Committee members and current volunteers will be there, so feel free to ask us any questions about ESN, getting involved in the society or about Edinburgh and the uni in general. So come prepared: get yourself some haggis, neeps and tatties (or something similar, do your best!), crack open a bottle of whisky or a drink of your choice and get ready for a fun evening of meeting new people, chatting and playing games.
Bonus points for who can find the funniest fact about Burns Night!
We'll be using Zoom for the event, the meeting link and password will be posted on this page just before the event. Depending on numbers we can put people into breakout rooms. There's no need to register in advance, but please click 'interesting' or 'going' so we know how many people to expect.
Hope to see you all on Monday!
