Goal of the Activity

The aim of this event was to help participants understand mental health challenges, support themselves and others, and break the stigma surrounding anxiety and depression. It was also aiming to provide the registrants with  practical tools to address the rising issues of mental health among youth.

Additionally, this initiative aimed to strengthen our collaboration with EPAPSY, a key mental health organization. Ultimately, Brave Talk sought to create a safe and supportive space for young people to learn, connect, and build resilience for a healthier future.

Description

The Brave Talk is an interactive training program held on April 12, 2024, organised by EPAPSY (an Association for Regional Development and Mental Health) in collaboration with ESN Greece to support young people aged 15 and above in understanding and addressing mental health challenges. Offered free of charge, it is part of the global “BRAVE TOGETHER” initiative by MAYBELLINE New York, powered by L’Oréal Hellas. Created by the JED Foundation and delivered by mental health professionals, the program equiped participants with tools to recognize mental health issues, support themselves and their peers, and reduce the stigma around anxiety and depression.

Conducted via Zoom in order for people from all over Greece to be able to join , the program provided a safe platform for meaningful discussions on mental well-being. The training addresses the rising concern of mental health issues, with anxiety and depression projected to become the leading health risks by 2030.
