The main goals of the event were assistance in the dog shelter "Pushdomik" and acquaintance of foreign students with Russian animal shelters. This was the first event of such format (previously we had done similar event only in a cat shelter). The participants not only helped with walking a large group of dogs, but also learned about the problems of this shelter and made small donations.
On Wednesday, September 15th, we've visited the dog shelter "Pushdomik" as part of the Social Program of our ESN section. We've been helping with the evening walking of shelter dogs between 18-21 pm. Participation in the event was free, but the participants could make donations in the form of money and things the shelter need: dog food, diapers, towels, toys, medicines etc.The shelter is located in a nice suburb of St. Petersburg, Pushkin. There are many beautiful sights here that are significant for the history of Russia and St. Petersburg, so we've met a bit earlier to have some time to walk along the main streets of the city.
