The objective of the event was to allow Erasmus students to visit a new city and to enable them to learn about new cultural aspects of Italy. Visiting Verona provided them with the opportunity to explore its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant cultural heritage, including famous landmarks.
We began our day with a visit to the renowned Verona Arena. This ancient Roman amphitheater, still in use today. Following the Arena visit, we enjoyed a leisurely lunch. Verona offers a variety of charming cafes and restaurants where we could savor traditional Italian cuisine, from pasta dishes to delectable gelato. The highlight of our day was the city tour organized by ESN Verona. Our knowledgeable guides led us through the cobbled streets, sharing fascinating stories and historical facts about the city's past. In the afternoon, we climbed the Torre dei Lamberti, which offered breathtaking panoramic views of Verona. We then had some free time to explore more of Verona at our own pace. Some of us chose to visit the historic Castelvecchio, a medieval fortress housing an impressive art museum, while others enjoyed a relaxing stroll along the Adige River or visited the charming Giardino Giusti, a beautiful Renaissance garden.
