The primary goal of this event was to offer participants an
authentic experience of Turkish culture through a traditional breakfast and a guided visit to Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey. The event aimed to promote intercultural dialogue, showcase Turkey’s rich cultural heritage and strengthen social bonds among participants.
The chosen location is known for its authentic Turkish breakfast experience. Participants had the chance to savor a variety of traditional Turkish delicacies such as simit, börek, menemen, sucuk, olives, cheeses, and a selection of jams, accompanied by Turkish tea.
During breakfast, participants were encouraged to engage in discussions about Turkish culinary traditions and share insights from their own cultures. This
interaction helped break stereotypes, foster cultural understanding, and create a welcoming atmosphere.
Following the breakfast, the group proceeded to Anitkabir. Upon arrival, a guided tour provided historical context about Atatürk's life, the significance of the
mausoleum, and the principles of the Turkish Republic. Participants explored the museum, viewed historical artifacts, and gained a deeper understanding of Turkey’s modern history.
The visit concluded with a moment of silence and group photos at the ceremonial plaza. Afterward, the participants were given free time to reflect on their experience and engage in informal discussions.
The event ended with the return journey to the original meeting point, where participants shared positive feedback about the day’s activities and their appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about Turkish culture and history.
