Goal of the Activity
The goal of the activity was to give incoming students a taste of traditional Piedmontese food and to give them a chance to meet new people.
Description
We had dinner at Osteria Nuova, a traditional Piedmontese restaurant in the city centre. Merenda Sinoira is a legacy from the peasant tradition of the mid-19th century, where farmers would take a break from their long days in the fields to enjoy simple yet satisfying foods. The name "Merenda Sinoira" comes from the dialect term "sina," meaning dinner, indicating a meal eaten before the evening work. The event was also a nice occasion to meet new people and to foster inclusion between incoming students and ESN volunteers.
