The main goal of the activity was to enjoy a surfing day at Somo beach, one of the most popular surf spots in Cantabria. Another important aim was to promote one of ESN’s partners, strengthening collaboration with local businesses that provide unique experiences for international students. The event was designed to encourage sports, community building, and cultural exchange in a natural and relaxed environment.
The meeting point was “El Embarcadero” in Santander, where we took the boat to Somo’s surf school, an ESN partner. Once there, the instructors welcomed us and offered both a theoretical and practical surf lesson, giving everyone the chance to enjoy the waves and learn the basics of the sport.
After the class, we relaxed and shared some snacks while talking about the experience. The return to Santander took place at different times, depending on each group. The activity turned out to be a fun and enriching experience that combined sport, nature, and friendship among international students.
