We aim to provide proper training to the members, to allow future event design to take into account gender inclusivity. Furthermore, for current and future board members, this might be a starting point for future internal policy changes, to ensure more gender equality even within the section. We invited trainers to our training weekend, where they facilitated workshops to make our offers more gender inclusive. Personal “coffee talks” should help the board to apply more gender-inclusive internal policies.
Activities: We invited a trainer from ESN Italy to facilitate workshops at our members' weekend. Everyone participated in three workshops/activities:
Safe spaces (1h, for all participants), Inclusive activities and events or Safety teams (90 min each, participants chose between these two tracks), Team building activity: Mission impossible (90 min, everyone).
Promotion and outreach: a lot of our members were interested in the training weekend, therefore we only advertised it internally and we filled up all the spots we had. Outreach: old active members and new members, including two exchange students. We believe it will help us to organise more inclusive events in the future.
Impact: The members learned about more aspects of gender topics. The workshop choice was designed in a way, that they either brainstorm on how to make local events more gender inclusive or work on the purpose and importance of safe teams and when and how they should be used.
These workshops gave members the tools and awareness to organise more inclusive and safe events in future
This activity is part of the project:
Inclusivity for All, Now!
