The event aims to inform young people about:
- the future Erasmus generation and the values that the namesake programme inspires;
- the importance and meaning of being European citizens;
- the fundamental role that this programme plays in our education.
Therefore, the main objective is to raise awareness on mobility programmes such as Erasmus+, which are generally known to everyone but that are rarely fully understood by young people.
It was also a great opportunity to present what ESN is and how it operates, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of volunteering.
From the Education perspective, the “Salone dello Studente'' is one of the most successful initiatives in our country, and ESN Italy has been actively collaborating in this initiative for many years. On this occasion, (future) students have the chance of approaching universities and schools in various Italian cities, to gather information about education and mobility possibilities. Due to the pandemic, the event was organised online, but it managed to confirm its essential usefulness for its target group.
Through a coordinated action carried out with a dedicated National team, ESN Italy has structured the participation of its Sections, ensuring them spots (11 meetings in 4 months) where they had the chance to present our Association, the importance of the Erasmus Programme and its educational benefit. Our Sections have therefore been involved and assisted in collaborating with Campus Orienta Digital (the organizing partner) before and during the event.
